This site is dedicated to the memory of Jann Rowe, an amazing creative being who inhabited this world for a time and blessed it with a multitude of beautiful works of her heart and hands and voice. She was a Renaissance woman – artist, singer, songwriter, poet, author, gamer. And the love of my life for the 23 years I was privileged to share with her.
Through these pages it is my goal to share with you a sampling of the creations that poured out of her on a near daily basis – paintings and poems, songs and stories, doodles and drawings and paper cups made into art. Sometimes in joy, sometimes in pain; whimsical, profound, playful, overflowing with outrage, overflowing with love. She was a volatile person who went heart first into the world and returned what she found there, transformed by her passion for making. I am humbled that her legacy is in my keeping and hope to share it in ways that somehow never happened while she was in the throes of creating it.
I miss you Jande, more than I can possibly say, though if you saw my writing journal you would know that it is not for lack of trying. She always liked to say,
“Love is a verb.”
I can think of no epitaph for her that is more apropos. While she has moved on to some new plane of existence, the artifacts that she left behind live on and speak in this one. I hope some of it speaks to you.
